JioMart and Reliance Smart stores roll out festive offers

New Delhi: JioMart, Reliance Retail’s digital commerce platform, and Reliance Smart stores have announced the rollout of Diwali sale starting Friday.

The sale will be live on the JioMart online marketplace platform as well as more than 3,000 smart stores, the retailer’s grocery and general merchandise retail chain, from October 14-24.

The retailer will hold the sale in several Smart formats, including Smart Bazaar, Smart Superstore and Smart Point, across the country. Reliance Smart sells fresh produce, baked goods, dairy, household and personal care products, general merchandise, apparel and smart appliances.

For customers, the offers will be available online through JioMart and in Smart Stores in their neighborhood.

“Over the past two years, smart stores have expanded into value shopping, destination shopping and convenience shopping formats. With this huge network of physical stores, a strong network of partners, sourcing capability and in-depth knowledge gained from serving Reliance Retail’s 20 crore registered customer base, the Bestival sale offers the best of exclusive deals and offers, links banking and special discounts on Diwali essentials and general merchandise, apparel, beauty products, electronics exclusively available online through JioMart and at neighborhood Smart Stores,” the retailer said in a statement.

Major retailers such as Amazon and Flipkart hold annual sale events as the holiday season approaches. Offline retailers are also offering deals, partnering with banks and providing exciting deals to entice shoppers.

JioMart and Smart Stores also rolled out a 360 degree campaign across mediums including TV, print, radio, outdoor and social media platforms.

This confluence of a nationwide network of stores and digital shopping at the same great prices is unique in retail,” said Damodar Mall, CEO of Grocery Reliance Retail.

The sales event will also see JioMart onboard regional artisans. Meanwhile, JioMart continues to expand into categories including consumer electronics, home and kitchen, fashion and lifestyle, beauty and FMCG, Reliance Retail said in a statement.

“We are delighted with the success of our cross-category expansion target, which has been well received across the country. We have seen a 3x increase in non-food category sales in the last 15 days of the sale. The overall response far exceeded our expectations,” said Sandeep Varaganti, CEO of JioMart.

JioMart has expanded its reach to 19,000 PINs for all categories to provide sellers with one of India’s largest online marketplaces. This rapid expansion is in line with JioMart’s goal of becoming the largest local e-marketplace, the company said.
